Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Regarding LBNL's Credit Card (USBank)

 

 

Q: Why does the Lab have a corporate card program?

A: The corporate card program was established to provide a convenient vehicle for employees to pay for travel and business expenses, and to reduce the need for cash advances.

 

Q: Will a credit check be performed at time of application?

A: Credit checks will not be made on applicants. The card is issued based on Berkeley Lab's request.

 

Q: Is there an annual fee for the card?

A: No. Cards are issued at no annual cost to the employee or the Lab.

 

Q: Whose responsibility is it to pay the bill?

A: The employee is responsible to pay their individual bill each month.

 

Q: Is the USBank Visa Corporate Card like other Visa credit cards?

A: No. Unlike other Visa cards that have a revolving line of credit, the USBank Visa card is a charge card, not a credit card. The balance is payable in full before the next billing.

 

Q: What are the payment terms?

A: The monthly statements are due and payable each month. At no time are balances to be carried forward into the next period.

 

Q: If my payment is not received within 30 days is there a late fee?

A: No. There is no late fee if the payment is not received within 30 days.

 

Q: What happens if my payment is not received within 60 days?

A: A delinquency fee of 2.5% is applied to an account that is 60 days past due. Payment of the fee is the responsibility of the cardholder and is not reimbursable. Card privileges will be suspended at 60 days if a payment has not been received.

 

Q: What happens if my payment is not received within 90 days?

A: No payment within 90 days will result in the cancellation of the account. Reinstatement will require application and credit reports may be requested.

 

Q: Will this reflect on my personal credit?

A: No. USBank does not report activity on your corporate card to any credit bureaus. However, if you do not pay your account for 150 days, then the delinquency will be reported.

 

Q: What if I have a question concerning my account?

A: Contact Customer Service at 800 344-5696, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

 

Q: What if my card is lost or stolen?

A: Call 800 344-5696 immediately. A report will be filed and a new card (with a new account number) will be issued immediately.

 

Q: Can I access cash through my USBank Visa card?

A: Yes. You can access cash at over 167,000 ATMs and 375,000 member banks worldwide using the Personal Identification Number (PIN) you receive in a letter about 10 days after receiving your card. There is a 2.5% transaction fee ($2.00 minimum, $10.00 maximum) when you generate a cash advance.

 

Q: What is my travel accident insurance coverage?

A: Primary coverage, protects against losses caused by a) common carrier accident, or b) an accident while on the way to or from the terminal in a common carrier such as a taxi, bus or airport shuttle, provided the ticket is charged on the USBank Visa card in advance of departure from the terminal. The coverage extended to the cardholder is $500,000. There is no charge for this coverage.

 

Q: How do I apply for the insurance?

A: All the insurance you receive is automatic and a benefit of carrying the USBank Visa Corporate Card.

 

Q: Can I designate a beneficiary for the Common Carrier Insurance?

A: Yes. Please call Customer Service at 800 344-5696 for beneficiary forms.

 

Q: Is there insurance in the event something happens to my luggage while traveling?

A: You are eligible for baggage insurance when the common carrier ticket was charged to the USBank Corporate Visa Card. You will receive reimbursement for the cost of the replacement of the luggage and it's contents claimed up to a) the equivalent amount paid by the common carrier, or b) $1250 contingent that the luggage was checked with the common carrier and lost due to theft or misdirection by the carrier.

A: You can call 800 847-2911 if you have questions regarding the rental car, flight or baggage insurance or if you need to file a claim.
