US Bank Travel Card

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Regarding LBNL's Credit Card (USBank)

Q: While putting in a request for on-line statement access for corporate card, US Bank asks for the Lab's "Organization Short Name". What is it?

A: The Organization Short Name is UOFCA.

Q: Why does the Lab have a corporate card program?

A: The corporate card program was established to provide a convenient vehicle for employees to pay for travel and business expenses, and to reduce the need for cash advances.

Q: Can I charge non-LBNL charges to my account? Costs incurred for official Laboratory business, as allowed by Contract 31 and Laboratory policy, can be charged to the account and will be reimbursed.

A: While on LBNL business travel, there are times when costs are incurred that will not be reimbursed through the Laboratory's Travel Policy (11.08).  Examples of these types of transactions include: meals which exceed the daily per diem and certain non-lodging related costs incurred at the hotel.  Charges such as these which are incidental to LBNL business travel may be charged to the US Bank Travel Card but are the employee’s/traveler’s responsibility.

Personal charges, unrelated to Laboratory business purposes, are not to be charged to the LBNL/US Travel card.

Q: Will a credit check be performed at time of application?

A: Credit checks will not be made on applicants. The card is issued based on Berkeley Lab's request.

Q: Is there an annual fee for the card?

A: No. Cards are issued at no annual cost to the employee or the Lab.

Q: Whose responsibility is it to pay the bill?

A: The employee is responsible to pay their individual bill each month.

Q: What if my card is lost or stolen?

A: Contact US Bank Customer Service at 800-344-5969, immediately.

Q: Is the USBank Visa Corporate Card like other Visa credit cards?

A: No. Unlike other Visa cards that have a revolving line of credit, the USBank Visa card is a charge card, not a credit card. The balance is payable in full before the next billing.

Q: What are the payment terms?

A: The monthly statements are due and payable each month. At no time are balances to be carried forward into the next period.

Q: What happens if my payment is not received within 60 days?

A: A delinquency fee of 2.5% is applied to an account that is 60 days past due. Payment of the fee is the responsibility of the cardholder and is not reimbursable. Card privileges will be suspended at 60 days if a payment has not been received.

Q: What happens if my payment is not received within 90 days?

A: No payment within 90 days will result in the cancellation of the account. Reinstatement will require application and credit reports may be requested.
